UCS FILES MANAGER

UCS Files Manager is a software tool designed for sound designers and sound design studios to organize their sound libraries following the Universal Category System (UCS) standard. This tool was conceived by myself to streamline the process of sorting and renaming sound files based on predefined categories and keywords.

Hey!

I’m Julien, a French composer and professional sound designer based in France. I spent the last 10 years playing music and creating soundscapes for various projects, and this is just the beginning!
I completed my studies at ACFA Multimedia, specializing in the field of video games. I had the opportunity to complete a 6-month internship at Ankama (Dofus, Wakfu, Waven). This experience greatly enhanced my skills as a sound designer. I worked on exciting game projects, which provided me with invaluable expertise in creating immersive sound effects, recording and mixing foleys, and integrating my sounds in the game. This experience also allowed me to collaborate with talented teams and gain insights into the behind-the-scenes of video game production.

Recently, I worked at Sloclap as a sound designer on an unannounced project for 6 months. This role enabled me to further develop my skills in integrating sound using Unreal Engine and Wwise, optimizing in-game sound performance, and establishing advanced recording processes for the studio’s sound library.

In my free time, I program Reaper scripts in Lua and develop Python tools to assist sound designers, such as the UCS Files Manager.

My expertise extends to M.A.O and audio arrangement. In addition to playing the guitar and synthesizers, I enthusiastically explore various virtual instruments. My inspiration draws from diverse sources such as video games, books, movies, and even venturing on hikes in remote locations. I can compose melodies that seamlessly fit any context or mood.
